This is a client-side storage mechanism — the data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. We cannot access it. Its sole purpose is to remember your preference so the cookie banner doesn't appear on every page load.

Server logs: Our web hosting provider maintains standard server logs that include your IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp of your request. These logs are used for technical diagnostics and security monitoring. They are not linked to any personal identity and are not used for tracking or profiling. Logs are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted.

What we do NOT collect: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts. We do not collect geolocation data. We do not use fingerprinting or device identification. When you load a city page, your browser makes a direct request to the Open-Meteo API (api.open-meteo.com) to fetch weather data. This request goes from your browser to Open-Meteo's servers — it does not pass through our servers. We cannot see these requests, log them, or associate them with you. Open-Meteo operates under its own privacy policy and data handling practices.

We chose this architecture specifically for privacy reasons. Your weather queries are between you and the meteorological data provider. We're not intermediating that connection and therefore cannot collect, store, or analyze your weather lookup patterns.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Open-Meteo API: Provides weather forecast data. Your browser connects directly to their servers. See Open-Meteo's privacy policy for their data practices.
• Web hosting provider: Hosts our website files and maintains server logs. Our hosting provider does not process personal data beyond standard server logging.

We do not use content delivery networks (CDNs) that track users. We do not embed social media widgets, share buttons, or comment systems. We do not use font services that log requests (we use system fonts exclusively).

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for 24 months to allow us to reference previous correspondence if you contact us again. After 24 months, they are deleted. Server logs are retained for 30 days and automatically deleted. Cookie consent preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage and persist until you clear your browser data — we cannot delete them because we never receive them.
